As the year comes to an end, the contributors to the Browser’s Corner would like to share some of the best books they read in 2014. These titles were not necessarily published in 2104– only read this year.
Next up, Ron from Audio Visual:
Title: The Litigators
Author: John Grisham
Call #: GRI
Wonderful and entertaining story about David, a young lawyer, who is fed up with working for his current firm. He finds a new job working with some very interesting and creative lawyers named Finley and Figg. Great characters, story line and at times laugh out loud funny. A real page turner, couldn’t put it down!
Title: Monsters: The 1985 Chicago Bears and the Wild Heart of Football
Author: Rich Cohen
Call #: 796.332 COH
This book brings the reader back to the players, the coach and their 1985 season. Lots of intense facts are brought up that I wasn’t aware of. Did you know that the Superbowl Shuffle was nominated for a Grammy Award? This is great writing that reads like fiction. I recommend this for fans of the 1985 Bears, football or anyone who loves sports.
Title: They Disappeared
Author: Rick Mofina
Call #: LARGE PRINT MOFINA
This book is a non-stop suspense filled ride. It takes the everyday event of sightseeing in new York City and turns it into a family’s worst nightmare. Jeff and Sarah take their 9-year-0ld son Cole to New York. The couple is hoping the trip will mend a rough patch in their marriage. I won’t give anymore away but I promise you – this is a book that you won’t be able to put down!
