Ever wonder what Huckleberry Finn’s Dad had to say for himself? Jon Clinch did. In this dark and, at times, violent first novel, he lets Finn try to explain himself. Although in the end, you will not sympathize with the brutal Finn, Clinch’s novel is an interesting character study of an important figure in American Literature.

First there was Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith (“the classic Regency romance-now with ultraviolent zombie mayhem!”), now we have popular essayist and novelist Michael Thomas Ford’s take on Jane Austen. No zombies here but Lord Byron has turned Jane into a vampire, a vampire who currently owns a bookstore in upstate New York. That’s right it’s Jane “The Fang” Austen. Read an excerpt here.
